Meet the Artist

Kaz Chaffin: Designer, DIYer, Beagle Lover

Kaz Chaffin

Background

Born and raised in SE Idaho, Kaz began expressing her creative talents early on by making gourmet mud pies, quilting and doing embroidery with her grandmother.  She photographed everything from sunsets to hoar frost on the trees beginning at about age 8 when she received her first camera. Her interior design skills started in her own bedroom during the middle school years as she was constantly rearranging the furniture and finding new ways to display her stuffed animals. In high school, she continued learning and creating with photography, art and home ec classes, and being part of the yearbook staff.

At the age of 19, Kaz left Idaho and began exploring the broader world, living in places as far strung as Ann Arbor, MI; Istanbul, Turkey; Northern Virginia/ Washington DC; Montgomery, AL; Tokyo, Japan and Logan, UT. Traveling extensively for work and pleasure has taken her to several foreign countries and all but six states in the U.S.

Her love of all things design-related has grown over the years, encompassing photography, graphic design, stained glass, jewelry making, interior decorating, home restoration, floral design and gardening. "Making" is definitely in her blood.

After working for almost 18 years for Herff Jones Yearbooks, restoring three historic houses and co-owning a photography business and small gallery, Kaz is now enjoying new adventures in the Bozeman, Montana area with her two beagles, Riley and Miles.
